Lampard hits back at John Terry following latest comment

Chelsea legend John Terry, who is the assistant manager at Aston Villa, indirectly criticised Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen as the cause to Aston Villa’s equaliser in the 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge last month.

John Terry had gone on to hail his side for getting a massive point at Stamford Bridge, as he wrote on Instagram: “Great to be back at the Bridge tonight @chelseafc ? Another great performance in the space of 48 hours from the boys @avfcofficial ? Rest & Recover now for our next game. @elghazi21 ⚽.”

And then @steveborham replied: “You’d have been raging at that equaliser John. The sporting side of this game has disappeared.”

Terry then pointed out that Andreas Christensen was to blame in Anwar El Ghazi’s goal, saying that the Dane “should have got up.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has now revealed that Christensen got injured as a result of that incident.

“I’ll set the record straight on that one – Andreas’ injury was absolutely from that moment in the Villa game,” Frank Lampard told reporters.

“It’s probably a typical modern-day reaction where Andreas has taken stick. He’s out but the injury isn’t too bad which is good news for him. “He’ll back in training with us on Saturday.”
