Lampard makes Chelsea’s transfer decision on Kepa Arrizabalaga
Despite being the most expensive goalkeeper in the world, Kepa Arrizabalaga is second choice at Chelsea following the arrival of Edouard Mendy from Rennes.
Following his big money move to Chelsea, Kepa failed to impress and has since dropped down the pecking order.
Ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League game against Krasnodar, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has claimed that Chelsea are under no pressure to sell Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Lampard said, according to The Sun: “There’s no pressure.
“The pressure is to win games and I have to do the right thing to win games, and Mendy has made himself a permanent fixture at this point.
“The pressure to win games means I pick people in form – goalkeeper, striker, winger, whoever. At the same time it’s obviously an opportunity to give Edu a rest and give Kepa a game. He deserves it.”
