Lampard reveals ‘HUGE’ reason why Giroud miss Leicester clash

The Blues were beaten 2-0 by Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night, as goals from Wilfred Ndidi and James Maddison sealed the win for the home team in the first half.

Lampard named an attacking trio of Christian Pulisic, Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham for the game, with Olivier Giroud missing out of squad.

Just before the game, the Chelsea boss clarified that the French striker struggled with an injury earlier in the day and will be out for a couple of days.

Lampard said: “He got a bang against Fulham and carried on, struggled through it.

“It was painful this morning. Hopefully [he will only be out] for a few days but he’s not ready for this match.”

Lampard’s job is now under threat, with Chelsea having now lost five out of their last eight games in the Premier League.
