Lampard sent £113 million transfer message, New signing reveals why he signed for Chelsea, and Ziyech reveals why he is excited

Ziyech reveals why he is excited, Lamps sent Nunez message and Silva joined to escape the pressure in Chelsea247 roundup..

Benfica manager Jorge Jesus says Uruguay forward and Chelsea target Darwin Nunez will eventually become the club’s record sale.

Frank Lampard has been a very busy man over the past few months and spent well over £200 million on bringing in players that he feels will help the club get back into the habit of winning big trophies.

However, we are still linked with a number of players as they seek to continue spending serious money and improving the squad, and Nunez is a player that has come into the shopping basket of the Blues. Nunez is making a real name for himself over at Benfica and is tipped to become a top player, so much so, that Jesus has opened up and told chasing club that the Uruguay forward will eventually become the club record sale.

Benfica’s biggest sale to date was the €126 million (£113m/$142m) Atletico Madrid paid to sign Joao Felix last summer, Jesus told SportTV: “We must not forget that he is a kid, he is 21 years old, there is a lot about the game that he does not know yet. He will learn with me and Benfica.

“He was Benfica’s most expensive purchase, and when there is no pandemic, he will be the most expensive sale. He will be a world-class player.”

Hakim Ziyech has named three Chelsea players he is especially looking forward to playing alongside.

The 27-year-old finally made his league debut in the 3-3 draw with Southampton after recovering from injury and is expected to have a massive impact at the cub after making a real name for himself with Dutch Champions Ajax.

He joins a hugely talented forward line following Frank Lampard’s summer splurge, in which he spent over £200 million on the likes of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz and Ziyech has now opened up and announced the three players he is looking forward to playing with.

Reported by the Metro, Ziyech said: “I have two different options, maybe three, depending on what the coach thinks. For me, it doesn’t matter where I’m playing. “Kai [Havertz] and Timo [Werner] are two big talents and they have already proved that in the past with what they did at their previous clubs.

“Christian [Pulisic] is also one of the biggest talents. They all have a lot of quality and Christian has been here longer than us. You have seen what he is capable of doing on the pitch. He’s just a crazy winger.

“For me, it’s really exciting to work with them and I don’t care where I play on the pitch.”

Chelsea star Thiago Silva admits he was looking to escape the pressure and routine of life at Paris Saint-Germain.

Silva is easily regarded as one of the best defenders over the past 10-12 years and became available in the transfer window after he failed to agree a new contract with PSG, despite the fact that the French giants were keen to get him to stay.

Silva concedes that, at 36 years of age, he did not want another continental quest in familiar surroundings, with a fresh start required in order to breathe new life into the closing stages of his career.

The South American centre-half told Esporte Interativo: “For me, it would be difficult to start another year with all this pressure of having to win the Champions League.

“So logically, I change things a little, I’m a little more relaxed. Not that there is no pressure here, the pressure is the same! A great team looking to win titles, but hey, I came to help, I can help at any time.”

Silva added: “I am motivated, I live for the challenges. I had been playing in Paris for eight years. Logically, one way or another, you fall into a comfort zone. Not a comfort zone in the sense of no longer working, of no longer seeking good results, but you end up falling into a routine.”

We have been massive fans of Silva for a many years now and were delighted to see that he chose to sign with our famous club, but if he felt there was pressure at PSG in that French League, just wait till the pressure starts to build here…
