Lampard speaks on choosing the perfect partner of N’Golo Kante in the midfield

At the beginning of the season, Frank Lampard was facing quite a difficulty in finding the ideal balance to his Chelsea side. The Blues boss was going for the 4-2-3-1 formation, striving to get extraordinary out of his new forwards and seeking for them to solidify.

It also left the defense exposed, along with the blues midfield of two got separated very far apart from each other.

In the last few games, Frank Lampard has decided to change the direction with his set up to go back to the 4-3-3 formation. It is a success as well, looking balanced in the attack along with defence with the blues, with one key reason being answered.

Kante is one of the untouchables and it is no doubt after his superb performance against the Portugal side to help France cruise to the finals. But lamaprd is in doubt regarding whom to choose as Kante’s partner in midfield.

“It is very normal when you miss pre-season and you are looking for those tweaks in formation at the start of the season.”

“Now, we are playing in a slightly different way and there have been a number of positives. That doesn’t mean that we can’t change back. It is great to see what it did for Kai and Mason- to bring those attributes in what we regard as really offensive players but when they have the energy and desire to cover ground to help the team.”

“Then pick the ball up and be dangerous when they arrive high, they are both things that Kai and Mason have.”

“Again, it is through the balance of the team and working on that but I am really impressed with the humility and humility of those two to do both sides of the number eight role.

“That’s what I want from the players that play when it is two number eights. I want them to help build offensively, join, help build, make assists and get goals,” said Lampard after Burnely’s game as per Football.London reports.

Keeping N’Golo Kante in the extra defensive will enable him to defend the back four, while Frank Lampard also can play two, better attacking, number eights.

Having the right players next to Kante was the key for Blues Boss, and he seems to have found ideal partners in Mason Mount and Kai Havertz. The duo has the efficient potential to add to the attacking risks of those ahead, they have the work rate and it helps in balancing the team out.

Lampard has a tough decision as Havertz missed some matches due to his COVID symptoms and it is to be seen who plays in the Newcastle match.
