Reports have again claimed that Chelsea are in official contact to sign midfielder Said Benrahma ahead of Arsenal.
Frank Lampard does not need to spend alot of money to improve his current side, but he does need to add another defender, midfielder and striker to the side in order to turn this Chelsea side from top four contenders to Premier League challengers.
There has been some big names linked with a transfer move to the Bridge and many Chelsea fans are getting excited about the possible arrivals that could make a move to the Premier League, with Benrahma on the shopping list.
But they they face a battle to land the midfielder, as according to La Gazette du Fennec. The Blues are even thought to have made ‘official contact’ with the player’s representatives as they look to continue their summer of spending.
Benrahma joined Brentford from Nice in 2018 for a modest £1.5million and has since managed 21 goals and 25 assists in 79 appearances.
Benrahma is linked with a move to the Premier League for one reason, and that is because he is ready to be tested at the very top of the game. So it will be interesting to see just whom he joins in the summer if he moves on, as Chelsea or Arsenal would suit his style of play. And for that £35 million that he is reportedly going for, it is not alot of money is it?
