‘Let him go, his time is over at Chelsea’ — Darren Bent says of Chelsea player

The Blues signed Michy Bathshuayi from Marseille back in 2016, but the Belgium international has since been a part of the loan army.

However, Chelsea fans will remember Bathshuayi for his goal that won Chelsea the league under Antonio Conte, but the 28-year-old never progressed after that.

Despite impressing on loan with Turkish side Besiktas, former England International Darren Bent doesn’t think he’d earn a recall to the Chelsea squad like Kenedy who was recently recalled from Brazil.

Ahead of Batshuayi’s transfer to Turkey, Chelsea extended his contract again until 2023, ensuring the centre-forward’s value remains high when the club do eventually sell him.

Bent said on talkSPORT on the Blues’ policy regarding their loan army: “It’s people like Batshuayi. For me, his time at Chelsea is over.”

“That’s him activating his last year and I understand it.

“He’s clearly not going to get the same money anywhere else as he is at Chelsea, so he’s going to want to stay on that contract for as long as possible.”
