Lewandowski sends massive message to Chelsea ahead of Champions League clash

Chelsea were beaten 3-0 by the German side in the first leg at Stamford Bridge, before the suspension of football, and the two sides may meet again when the Champions League resumes in August.

Bayern continued their fine form like the season was never suspended as they won five games on the throt, including a 1-0 victory over Werder Bremen on Tuesday to secure an eighth straight league title.

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski who has bagged 46 goals this season, has warned that their next target is the Champions League.

“We are German champions. Of course it is a bit complicated without celebrating fans. That certain extra, this passion is missing,” the striker said, via the club’s website.

“We are still very satisfied. It was not an easy season, we fought for the title for a long time. I hope that we can celebrate with the fans in the stadium soon. “Werder played a little more defensively but well in the first half. In the second half we should have scored a goal, then it would have been a little easier.

“We showed that we are the best team in Germany and we want to play even better in the Champions League.”

UEFA will have a meeting on Wednesday, June 17, to make their final decision regarding the Champions League. The governing body is expected to confirm plans to hold the final stages of the competition in one city, likely Lisbon, in a truncated spell in mid-August when domestic leagues have finished.
