Malang Sarr replacement at Chelsea confirmed as Tuchel makes decision on player
Malang Sarr has been sent on loan to Monaco of France’s Ligue One.
The 23-year-old would now join Monaco on loan for the 2022-2023 campaign, with Monaco having the option to acquire him permanently for £10 million.
However, Sarr was a squad player who played in a number of crucial games for Chelsea last season, making 21 appearances for the club.
Ethan Ampadu, a young Chelsea defender, has been added to the team to take Sarr’s place after his departure.
A few adjustments were made from the training last week, most notably the replacement of Malang Sarr for Ethan Ampadu.
Ampadu, who spent the previous season on loan with Venezia, has been connected to a loan move this summer.
Nevertheless, according to recent sources, Thomas Tuchel has changed his mind about Ampadu and he might remain at the team merely in case a defensive replacement isn’t signed.
