“Man Utd and Tottenham don’t have that” – Middlesbrough boss finally reveals why he failed to beat Chelsea

After beating Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in the previous rounds, Middlesbrough were hoping for a third successive FA Cup victory over a Premier League side ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup clash against Chelsea.

However, Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea team ended Middlesbrough’s FA Cup dreams with a 2-0 victory at the Riverside Stadium thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku and Hakim Ziyech.

Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder explained after their defeat to Chelsea on Saturday why he failed to beat Chelsea despite beating Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in the previous rounds.

Wilder said: “Chelsea just find a way. It is the mentality of the group led by an incredible manager. They have stability with Thomas Tuchel coming in and the other two clubs (Spurs-Utd) maybe don’t have that.”
