Man Utd set to hijack Chelsea move for 23-year-old striker valued at £62m

Premier League giants, Manchester United have reportedly agreed on a £62m deal with Lyon for Chelsea-linked forward Moussa Dembele.

The West London club have been heavily linked with a move for the ex-Celtic man, but the Red Devils are believed to have won the race for Dembele’s services ahead of the 2020/21 season.

The 23-year-old Frenchman enjoyed a stellar season with the Ligue 1 giants before the current campaign was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, with Dembele managed to score 16 goals in 27 appearences for Lyon.

Indeed, Todofichajes reports that a £62m bid has been accepted by Lyon, and the forward is preparing to make a switch to Old Trafford ahead of the next transfer window.

While Ligue 1 giants have previously claimed that Dembele will not for sale, their failure to secure European football for next campaign means that they are supposedly ready to cash in on Frenchman.

Dembele has managed to found back of the net 42 times in 88 games for Lyon since joining them from Celtic back in 2018.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Man Utd eyeing a move for another French talent from Lyon as Houssem Aouar has been tipped to depart from the club ahead of the 2020/21 season.
