According to Italian media outlet Corriere dello Sport via The Sun, Chelsea are more determined than ever to sign Napoli all-time record goalscorer Dries Mertens.
Sky Sports had claimed earlier that talks have already begun between Chelsea and the 32-year-old’s representatives about a switch to London.
Corriere dello Sport also claims Chelsea have succeeded in turning the head of the Belgian forward.
It is believed Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has already personally held talks with Mertens.
Mertens has 90 caps for Belgium and has scored 121 goals in 319 games for Napoli across seven seasons.
