Marina Granovskaia makes Emerson transfer decision, as Blues line up surprise 30M bid for Atalanta midfielder

The Blues are reportedly open to selling Italian international Emerson Palmieri this summer.

The 26 year old left-back is attracting plenty of interest from clubs in Italy with Inter Milan, Roma, and Napoli all linked with the Chelsea player.

Reports in Italy claim Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has revealed Chelsea’s asking price for Emerson after Napoli enquired about signing the left-back.

According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato, Granovskaia is demanding €20million (£17m) initial fee plus up to €5m (£4.3m) in add-ons for Emerson.

Napoli reportedly find the transfer fee demanded by Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia for Emerson Palmieri as too expensive.

While Napoli are unwilling meet Chelsea’s demand, they still plan to meet with Emerson’s agents to find another solution.

With Emerson barely playing for Chelsea last season and the left-back having just one year left on his contract, selling Emerson this summer is the obvious choice for Chelsea.

Blues line up surprise 30M bid for Atalanta midfielder

According to La Stampa, Chelsea are considering making a €35m (£30m) offer for Atalanta midfielder Matteo Pessina.

The Italian newspaper claims the Blues want the 24-year-old to strengthen their midfield, after having an impressive European Championships for Italy.

With Billy Gilmour having left for Norwich City on loan, manager Thomas Tuchel is expected to be in the market for a midfielder this summer, and it appears Pessina is one of the names on the list.

The Italian international had a rather underwhelming season for Atalanta in terms of goals and assists, making only six goal contributions in total, but he is able to play a number of different positions in the middle of the park.

La Dea boss Gian Piero Gasperini deployed Pessina as a number 10, number 8 and as a holding midfielder as the Serie A side finished third. That adaptability may have attracted Tuchel’s attention with the German known for his tactical flexibility. Whether Chelsea will actually make a formal offer for the player in the coming weeks, we shall have to wait and see.
