Massive Records: Tammy Abraham and Reece James combine to break very old Chelsea record

The game between Chelsea and Rennes was a game were records were matched and broken.

Chelsea defeated Rennes 3-0, but it wasn’t only Edouard Mendy who set a record, after keeping a clean sheet in three successive Champions League games – the first time a Chelsea goalkeeper has done that since Petr Cech in 2010.

Tammy Abraham was also among the record list after scoring Chelsea’s third goal in the 50th minute.

Abraham started the game and got a goal, and with his goal, the 23-year-old became the first Chelsea player to score in three consecutive Champions League starts since Willian in 2015.

It doesn’t end there for Abraham, he also became the first Englishman to do so since Frank Lampard in 2008.

Tammy Abraham and Reece James also combined for another record, as Reece James assisted the forward’s goal. It was the first time two Englishmen have combined for a Champions League goal for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge since March 2012.

The last time that happened was a combination that included current boss Frank Lampard and former captain John Terry, with Lampard providing an assist to John Terry in a Champions League clash against Napoli.
