New Chelsea owner? as Saudi consortium enters race to buy Chelsea from Roman Abramovich
The Blues owner Roman Abramovich officially announced that he has put the club up for sale with reports claiming the Russian billionaire wants £3billion.
However, according to GOAL, a Saudi private consortium led by Saudi Media registered their interest on Sunday to buy Chelsea from Abramovich through Raine Group, a New York merchant bank that has been hired to find a buyer.
Saudi Media are a fund that is heavily involved in funding media, advertising and sports brands across the world.
However, their main content offering is for the pan-Arab broadcasting market. The company has offices in both Dubai, UAE and Saudi Arabia itself.
It is thought that at least 10 serious buyers are interested in buying Chelsea from Abramovich.
