Newcastle United ‘leading’ the race to sign Chelsea midfielder in January
January transfer window is in few weeks and some Chelsea players will likely to leave the club due to their lack of playing time.
However, according to Yorkshire Evening Post, mega-rich Premier League side Newcastle United are interested in signing Chelsea star Ross Barkley in January.
The report also adds Burnley and Everton are also interested in a January move for the 28 year old midfielder.
Barkley has made 11 appearances for the Blues across all competitions this season but only four has been starts with just two starts in the Premier League.
Barkley’s last appearance for the Blues was the draw against Everton. He has clearly failed to win the trust of Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.
Despite Chelsea pushing for a win in the goalless draw against Wolves, Tuchel made just two changes and failed to bring on Barkley from the bench.
With Barkley failing to impress Tuchel, the Blues could cash in on the midfielder in January.
