Next up: Another youngster to join Chelsea within 24 hours
Chelsea is now moving rapidly in the transfer market after a sluggish start, and this is true for both their first team and their youth team.
Omari Hutchinson just switched from Arsenal, where his contract had expired, to join the youthful players.
However, Next up is “wonderkid” Zak Sturge, who has been linked with us for a couple of weeks. According to Nizaar Kinsella in the Evening Standard, that transfer will be completed within 24 hours.
The England U18 star has excelled at Brighton and will now get the opportunity to play for a junior squad with a clear path to the top, typically via a few loans.
We like the kid’s desire, even though it’s a dangerous move given that he’s more likely to see action at Brighton in the near future.
All of this is a very blatant deliberate attempt to bolster a decimated young squad that only avoided relegation last season in the very last second.
Zak Sturge is set to complete his transfer to Chelsea in the next 24 hours. All fully wrapped up today and another big signing for the academy.
