(Not Kai Havertz): Marina still keeping tabs on €120m player despite latest signings

According to the latest reports in Spain, Chelsea are closely monitoring the Slovenia international Jan Oblak’s situation with the Atletico Madrid stopper having doubts over the club’s project.

Frank Lampard is understood to be in the market for a new goalkeeper with keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga making a string of high-profile errors last campaign.

The Blues boss is aiming to rebuild his backline after his side conceded 54 goals in the top-flight over their 2019/20 campaign.

According to a report by AS, Jan was left frustrated by Atletico’s lack of silverware last season as they crashed out of the UCL at the quarter-final stages to RB Leipzig and finished 17 points behind city rivals Real Madrid.

That disappointment has led to Oblak – who is considered among the best goalkeepers in the world – having some doubts regarding the sporting project at the club.

Los Rojiblancos remain firm in their stance that any club looking to land their No.1 must pay his €120 million (£108m) release clause.

The report claims that Chelsea are attentive to Oblak’s situation, while Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain is also a possible destination for the keeper.

Responding to the links to the Blues before Atletico’s Champions League exit to Leipzig, the 27-year-old star refused to rule out a switch to Stamford Bridge.
