“One of the big names next summer” – Fabrizio Romano confirms Chelsea to make big offer for €80m player in 2022
According to a brand new Fabrizio Romano report released today, Chelsea is anticipated to be in the running to recruit one of the marquee players of next summer.
As usual, Chelsea is mentioned in the transfer expert’s most recent updates of his Substack Newsletter.
The Blues recently experienced an extremely active and costly transfer window, and that is anticipated to continue into the following two or three windows as they continue the significant squad rebuilding under the new ownership.
They are anticipated to focus on several areas, including the attack. According to Romano, Chelsea will compete with RB Leipzig for the services of Christopher Nkunku in the summer transfer window.
Nkunku will be sought after by a number of clubs, with Chelsea likely to be among them given their recent interest in the attacker.
“There will be many clubs in the race for Nkunku next summer, including Chelsea as they’ve always been interested and attentive to his growth,” Romano said.
“Nothing has been decided yet on the next step, it will be in 2023 – Nkunku will be one of the big names next summer.”
Chelsea have struggled in attack in recent seasons, but they are also expected to be looking at revamping the midfield as well. More work to do!
