Todd Boehly has found his Antonio Rudiger replacement as Chelsea make big approach sign 21-year-old french-man

There is no secret that Chelsea is looking for a new center-back. The team signed Wesley Fofana and Kalidou Koulibaly in the summer, but after losing Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger, as well as taking into account the advancing years of both Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta, the Blues will soon need to sign another defender.

According to the latest reports from France, they would have liked that man to be Benoit Badiashile. The 21-year-old AS Monaco star is already part of Didier Deschamps’ plans and recently started the UEFA Nations League games against Austria and Denmark respectively.

Now, as per L’Equipe, as cited by Sport WitnessChelsea have ‘positioned themselves’ among the frontrunners looking to sign him in ‘recent weeks’, but Monaco are currently holding them off. Badiashile himself has since admitted he remains humble and isn’t desperate to leave the Ligue 1 outfit.

“Being humble and respectful does not mean not being ambitious. I know how to be patient. I’m at a big club, I’m playing and I don’t want to go any faster. If things have to be done, they will be done, like for the World Cup,” Badiashile said, as cited by Sport Witness.

“You shouldn’t put pressure on yourself with a departure. We were talking about personality in a locker room, if I had left earlier, would I have worked as well as that in recent months?”

The deal is obviously going to be complicated, but it seems like one to keep an eye on in the future.
