‘Out of respect! as Haaland announces pressure with Chelsea ready to offer£500,000-a-week deal

According to latest reports, Chelsea have again been left on alert after target Erling Haaland has admitted that Borussia Dortmund are putting pressure on him to make a decision on his future

Haaland has a contract with Dortmund until 2024 but is understood to have a release clause that can be activated in the summer that would allow him to leave the club for around £65 million, far below his current market value.

That has led to many reports in the media that all the biggest clubs in the game are eager to make a move at the end of the season and offer him a £500,000-a-week contract to leave the Bundesliga side.

It is no secret that Chelsea are long time admirers of the star and are looking at the possibility to adding a new forward to the attack in the summer, especially as Romelu Lukaku hits the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Now, amid all the speculation, Haaland says pressure from Borussia Dortmund to make a decision about his future is proving to be a distraction.: “The last six months, I have chosen not to say anything out of respect for Dortmund,” Haaland told Viaplay.

“But now the club has started to pressure me into making a decision, but all I want to do is to play football.

“But they press me to make a decision now about my future. So that means I have to make a decision soon.

“I have said from the beginning that I want to focus on football, because that is when I am at my best, not when other things come into my mind.

“Now they have put pressure for a while. So it is time to get things started. All I want to do is to play football, but I can’t do that now.”
