‘Pace, Technique, and can win Duels – Sporting Director Delighted after wrapping up OFFICIAL late Chelsea deal

According to reports, United States international Matt Miazga has again left Chelsea on loan, signing a one-year deal with Anderlecht.

The U.S. men’s national team center back is leaving parent club Chelsea for a season-long spell at Anderlecht, the fourth temporary club away from Stamford Bridge for the 25-year-old since he joined Chelsea from the New York Red Bulls in 2016.

After stints with Vitesse, Nantes and Reading, Miazga heads to Belgium, where he’ll play for a center back great in Vincent Kompany, who retired to fully focus on management, and is looking for a more permanent switch at the end of the season.

And after seeing the transfer deal get done, the Belgian Pro League’s club sporting director Verbeke is delighted with the acquisition of the United States international, who he feels has the necessary experience to play for the club.

“Matt can win duels, but also has pace and technique“, Verbeke told the club’s official site.

“[It is] a combination that is hard to find and one we always look for in a central defender, as we want to keep playing our own style of football.

“Matt has played in the Dutch Eredivisie, where he has won the cup with Vitesse, the French Ligue 1 and the Championship.

“He’s 25 and has the necessary experience. “Now it’s Matt’s turn to bring some extra competition to our defence!“

Look, the man is now 25-years of old an coming to that point in his career that he needs to leave Chelsea on a more permanent basis in order to settle down and fulfil his playing career.
