Personal terms agreed, Blues quickly moving to complete deal – Fabrizio Romano gives updates on £50m Chelsea target
A deal for Marc Cucurella that looked absurd and improbable just 24 hours ago is quickly coming to an end.
The signing of a fourth first team left back is not the decision that many anticipated Chelsea to make because of the multitude of needs at those positions. However, this move is proceeding quickly after being rejected elsewhere on so many other fronts.
Fabrizio Romano has been in charge of covering this story, and today he tweeted that the Blues and the Brighton left back have reached a personal agreement.
The teams still need to agree on a fee, although they are now in “direct talks” to do so.
However, Chelsea may be eager to complete this transaction, even at a premium price, given their failings on other fronts, even though Man City has put their foot down and refused to pay the £50 million odd that Brighton demand.
It is unclear who made the decision, but it now appears certain to occur.
Full agreement now reached between Chelsea and Cucurella on personal terms. Potential contract has been proposal approved, Marc’s prepared to accept once clubs agree on fee. 🚨🔵 #CFC
