Chelsea new goalkeeper Edouard Mendy couldn’t have asked for a better start to life in the Chelsea goalpost.
Having seen enough of Kepa Arrizabalaga last season, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard believed it was time to sign a new goalkeeper, and signed Mendy from Rennes.
Mendy has so far conceded just one goal in five games, and has kept a clean sheet in four games.
Mendy has been providing save after save, which is what fans and the manager want to see, and a Reddit user has used a GSAA stat to show just how much form Mendy has been in.
GSAA stands for Goals Saved Above Average – and Reddit user Topstrikerr used this figure to indicate whether a keeper saves more shots than he’s expected to.
Mendy tops the list even ahead of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson, as he is overperforming his expected saves figure by 30 per cent. Meanwhile, Kepa is closer to the end of the table.
