Chelsea new star Hakim Ziyech is yet to make his debut for the club, having picked up a knee injury in a pre-season friendly against Brighton, before the start of the season.

The Morocco International has been training with the Chelsea team for weeks, but hasn’t been given minutes on the pitch, as the Chelsea medics want him totally well before resuming action.

The 27-year-old has now been called up for their upcoming international games against Senegal on Friday and DR Congo next Tuesday.

It is feared that the North African giants will feature Ziyech at some point in any of the games, and Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, will be hoping that his star signing is adequately protected.

Yesterday in training, Ziyech was pictured training with his Morocco teammates wearing a knee support to protect himself.

“Ziyech is getting closer but not close enough to be on the bench,” Lampard last said of the Moroccan star, as he’s looking forward to his combination with Christian Pulisic. “I think they will all bring the best out of each other.

“It’s a shame we haven’t had them. Hakim will bring something completely different for us.

“I am very excited to have them fit. “I have a clear idea of where I want them to play.”
