‘Player’s agent lands in London’ – as Chelsea looks to wrap up deal for world-class defender
Chelsea has had an absolutely crazy transfer window thus far, and they are still being connected to some very significant moves for top-tier players.
Raphinha, a winger for Leeds United, attracted a lot of interest yesterday, and within a few hours, the teams had agreed on a price.
Then, names like Matthijs De Ligt and Milan Skriniar have been mentioned on the defensive target list. However, we are now learning about a another top-tier defender who Chelsea has already been connected to, including once more earlier in this transfer window.
But according to Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea have rekindled their interest in signing Kalidou Koulibaly, a defender for Napoli, and his agent is currently in touch with Chelsea representatives from London.
According to Di Marzio, De Lige and Skriniar’s exorbitant asking prices have compelled Chelsea to inquire about Koulibaly because his asking price will be lower given that the Napoli star has one year remaining on his contract.
Personally, I would hardly call this “forced,” what a player!
