Poor, poor with the ball — Hasselbaink blasts Chelsea player after poor run in Man Utd 1-1 draw

Poor, poor with the ball — Hasselbaink blasts Chelsea player after poor run in Man Utd 1-1 draw

The Blues could only get a point at Stamford Bridge as Thomas Tuchel’s side played out a 1-1 draw with Manchester United.

Jorginho’s error immediately after the restart gave Jadon Sancho an easy opportunity to beat Edouard Mendy in the Chelsea goal, which he did. Jorginho restored parity from the spot 19 minutes after.

Chelsea missed a good number of chances to win the game, and at the end, both teams settled for a point.

However, former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was critical of Timo Werner’s performance all through the game, and claimed that the Chelsea striker was poor with and without the ball. Werner missed a massive chance in the second half and seemed off pace for most of the game, much to Hasselbaink’s frustration.

Asked to rate Werner’s performance, Hasselbaink told Sky Sports: “Poor, poor.

“With the ball, without the ball, poor. Normally he is really sharp with his runs.

“At the end of the day, you’re a No. 9, you’re going to be judged on the opportunities you get and what you do with it. It wasn’t good enough.

“He needs to score those chances. He keeps on missing big chances, big opportunities. He needs to put them away.”
