President confirms Chelsea offer for £60M star–sends shock message!

De Jong has been a player who has frequently been in the news over the previous six months as all signs pointed to him leaving Barcelona.
Numerous times, it has been stated that Barcelona is eager to sell De Jong in order to recover some of the money they have spent on acquiring new players in recent weeks. As they look to rebuild the team, Barcelona has made high-priced acquisitions such as Raphinha, Jules Kounde, and Robert Lewandowski; the £60M they could net from the sale of De Jong would go a long way.
Due to Thomas Tuchel’s desire to strengthen his midfield, this has led to shocking media reports that Chelsea has made an offer to try and get De Jong this summer.
However, despite leaving speculations and the club’s desire for him to leave, On Sunday, President Joan Laporta stated that they wanted to hold onto De Jong throughout this transfer window.
“He is a Barca player of great quality, and we want him to stay,” Laporta said.
“With him and his team-mates, we have a very strong midfield. He has offers but we want him to stay, and he wants to stay too.”
De Jon could be a Chelsea player as soon as possible if a deal could be strike between both teams.
