REPORT: £24m Chelsea man could return to his homeland with Sevilla keen

Sevilla are keeping track of Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso ahead of a possible move this summer. That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who claim that the Spanish side could be on the hunt for a new full-back as they are set to lose Sergio Reguilon and potentially Sergio Escudero too.

Chief Monchi is working on a list of possible summer targets and has ‘screened’ a list of ‘A options’. And Estadio Deportivo have learned that one of those is the Blues’ Alonso, with the La Liga club, understood to be ‘very attentive’ to what happens to him this summer.

It’s been widely claimed that he could leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with the Blues having been heavily linked with a move for the Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell.

The website explains that any deal for him would be ‘as ambitious as it is financially demanding’ for the Spanish side and would only be possible if the situation will allow for it.

Monchi thinks any deal would be ‘very expensive’ and there may be plenty of competition for the player, so will remain ‘vigilant’ in case the Blues decide to put him on the market for an ‘affordable’ price.

What that price would be is not mentioned, although the website does make clear that Transfermarkt – a website that specialises in valuing stars – has him at around €20m.

That is just under the £24m that Chelsea paid to land him from Fiorentina in 2016 so could be about right, although it is very likely Chelsea will push for as much as possible to give themselves extra funds to spend elsewhere.
