REPORT: Atletico Madrid make ‘massive decision’ on Kepa’s swap deal for Oblak

According to reports, Chelsea have identified Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak as one of the club’s priority transfer targets to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga as the club’s first choice goalkeeper for next season.

However Reports claim that Chelsea will try to introduce Kepa in a likely swap deal for Oblak, but according to the Daily Mail, Atletico Madrid have made it clear that are not interested in ‘Kepa Arrizabalaga’s involvement in any deal’ to reduce their £110 million asking price for Chelsea target Jan Oblak.

Oblak is highly valued and is believed to be worth over £100m especially as he has several years remaining on his contract until 2023. The brilliant goalie is widely acclaimed as one of the best in Europe, having clocked up an impressive 139 clean sheets in 255 appearances for Atletico across all competitions.

In other news, Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is ‘not surprised’ by Chelsea’s rumoured interest in Jan Oblak though hopes to keep the in-demand goalkeeper at the club.

Asked about the speculation on Wednesday, Simeone said: “It does not surprise me, every year our most important players are wanted by the best in the world.

“It is normal to always look for the best – and we have many. Some have left and others have stayed.

“It is logical and normal that anyone wants Oblak. He is our captain and an important player. I hope we can count on his work, which is enormous for Atleti.”
