REPORT: Chelsea board ready to complete £77m deal to sign Italian World-Class defender

Chelsea have been on a spending spree as the Blues are strengthening their squad in different areas of the pitch.

However, Frank Lampard is now reportedly targeting a move for a world-class defender and the Blues boss is “ready” to sign highly rated Inter Milan defender Milan Skrinair ahead of next season.

Chelsea scouts have identified the defender as a potential signing to bolster Chelsea’s defence which has been a major cause of concern for Frank Lampard through out the season.

The 25-year Old Milan Skrinair is regarded as one of Europe’s best central defenders as he has been an integral member of Inter Milan’s rejuvenated squad in recent season. The Slovakian defender has also been compared to Manchester United legend Nemanja Vidic as they share a similar playing style.

Chelsea’s transfer chiefs have reportedly held talks with the player’s representatives as they look to continue their spending after completing a deal for Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech already.

However, Inter Milan are likely to demand a fee in the region of £77m for the world-class defender but Chelsea are confident of negotiating a slightly lower price for the player.

Chelsea are well aware that they need to improve their defence and a player like Skrinair exemplifies what Frank Lampard wants in a defender. He is good with the ball at his feet, can defend well and also has an excellent reading of the game.
