According to The Athletic, the Blues are still interested in signing Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is eager to sign a new goalkeeper this summer to provide Kepa Arrizabalaga with increased competition for a starting spot.

With Dean Henderson returning to Manchester United after an impressive loan spell at Sheffield United, opportunities for Romero will be few and far between next season, and United are reportedly open to selling the Argentine.

Chelsea are reportedly giving serious consideration to a bid for the Manchester United shot stopper to improve Lampard’s options at the club.

Romero has won the FA Cup, the League Cup, the Europa League and the Community Shield during his five seasons at Manchester United.

Romero has only made 61 appearances in his five seasons at Old Trafford.
