REPORT: Chelsea might lose Kante to bring in €48m highly-rated Inter Milan defender

According to Corriere dello Sport, as cited by CalcioMercato, has a very short paragraph that suggests something interesting.

Fresh from their Europa League final defeat last night, Inter Milan are apparently ready to sell their mainstay central defender Milan Skriniar to raise funds to bring Antonio Conte his number one target this summer – N’Golo Kante.

The Chelsea midfielder has had two injury hit seasons since Conte left Stamford Bridge, and there is a sense that selling him now could be wise, before his value starts to tumble as he hits 30.

There’s no suggestion about where he might go – but given Chelsea need to improve at centre-back, it’s worth considering the idea that he could go to Chelsea in return.

He’s younger than Kante, and hasn’t had the injury problems, which would balance the prices out a little. Kante has been the best in the world in his role for long period, which Skriniar hasn’t, but given all the other factors involved, it’s certainly something worth thinking about.
