REPORT: Marina makes 5 Chelsea transfer deadline decisions

Chelsea have taken some bold steps before the close of the summer transfer window.

However, The Blues had sold Kurt Zouma to West Ham for £29.8m in order to create room for Jules Kounde, but the deal for Kounde has now been called off this summer.

Chelsea were reluctant to trigger the France centre-back’s release clause, which is set at £68.5m. The Blues wanted to negotiate a lower fee, but Sevilla were unwilling to budge. Chelsea would now move for the 22-year-old in January.

For young defender Ethan Ampadu, Chelsea have loaned the Welshman to Venezia and extended the youngster’s contract until 2024.

For Callum Hudson-Odoi, Chelsea have refused to allow the young winger join German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund on loan. The 20-year-old doesn’t seem to be a key player for Thomas Tuchel and is yet to make an appearance this season. He wanted to spend the season with Dortmund, but Tuchel has blocked the deal after deciding he needs the 20-year-old as a squad option.

For Tino Anjorin, the 19-year-old is set for a move to Lokomotiv Moscow on loan with an €18m (£15.5m) obligation to make the transfer permanent next summer.

As for Saul Niguez, the Atletico man is already on his way to being a Chelsea player. According to reliable transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid to sign Spanish international Saul Niguez.

Saul would join Chelsea on loan with the Blues paying a loan fee of €5 million. Personal terms is believed to have been agreed.
