Report: Tuchel hints on what to expect before summer deadline day
The summer transfer window is set to be closed and there are expectations for Chelsea even if they have had a decent start of the season.
Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan is the only signing made by the West London outfit and they seem to be satisfied.
Manager Thomas Tuchel has made it clear that he’s happy with the squad at his disposal, indicating that Chelsea’s business may well be done for the summer.
He gave this hint when he was asked after his team defeated Arsenal by 2-0 on Sunday.
“I am absolutely happy with our squad and the alternatives we have,” he said.
“It’s not too big a squad, we were missing Christian Pulisic today which meant everybody else was straight in the squad.
“That means we have not the biggest squad, but we have a very, very competitive squad in all positions.
“That is necessary because we pay a lot of competitions and play the World Cup in the winter.
“So if we want to compete we need this level.
“It’s important we’re a strong group, this is maybe the most important thing.
“We played with a strong bond and a great team spirit. This is the challenge for us and me to create this atmosphere again.
“If we can keep on pushing the team we can achieve more.”
The Blues have been linked with the signature of defender, Jules Kounde and it was earlier believed that he wanted to make the move to England but from all indications it will no longer happen with the development and hint given by Chelsea boss.
There is still little over a week left in the transfer window and there will be no surprise if the Blues make a major u-turn to make the move.
