Chelsea summer signings Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner made their debuts as Chelsea drew 1-1 against Brighton on Saturday.
Both summer signings had an instant impact, with Ziyech floating the type of pin-point ball Ajax fans loved, finding Callum Hudson-Odoi whose botched attempt at a header fell to Werner, who slotted in cooly for his first Chelsea goal after just four minutes.
Ziyech was replaced early in the second half after he appeared to twist his foot awkwardly. 20 year old Conor Gallagher replaced him.
Chelsea fans will be desperate to hear news that it was merely a knock, with the Premier League season set to kick off in little over two weeks.
Ethan Ampadu gave away a penalty in the final minute, which Willy Caballero couldn’t save, and then Olivier Giroud picked up a head injury in added-on time as well.
