Lille head-coach Christophe Galtier has confirmed that forward Victor Osimhen will depart from the Ligue 1 club this summer.

The Nigerian striker has been rumoured with a range of Premier League teams in recent months, including Chelse and Tottenham. He has managed to found back of the net 18 times in his debut season for the French club, scoring 13 in the French top-tier.

Still being only 21-year-old Omisen has been tipped to be a worthy competitor to Harry Kane for minutes upfront for Spurs and another potential addition Chelsea despite having already signed Timo Werner from RB Leipzig earlier last week.

While Stamford Bridge is already set to welcome the arrival of a new centre-forward in 2020 Omisen who style of play has been compared to the Blues legend Didier Drogba would be a perfect addition to Frank Lampard’s side.

Galtier’s latest comments were reported by the Daily Mail, with the Ligue 1 manager confirming that Lille are to lose Osimhen.

“Regarding Victor and Gabriel [Magalhaes], yes, I’ve known for a long time that they’re leaving,” he said.

“They’re working hard with us in the meantime. We’re working on the players who are currently here and those likely to replace them. Of course, the club is working to replace him [Osimhen].”
