Revealed: The four players Chelsea can agree a free transfer with in January

Chelsea were the talk of the summer transfer window after spending more than £200million, but will they do any business in January?

However, According to free transfer rules, those out of contract in the summer can speak to clubs abroad and agree a pre-contract agreement for the summer.

With that in mind, we have rounded up four players that could interest Chelsea and all of them are available to discuss a summer deal right now.

Gianluigi Donnarumma: The Blues have already been linked with a move for the AC Milan stopper who is, of course, out of contract this summer.

Donnarumma has been dubbed one of the best goalkeepers in the world by some and he is still only 21 years of age.

He has already racked up more than 200 appearances for Milan and looks set to be available this summer.

David Alaba: Perhaps the most likely of the summer arrivals, Alaba is looking for a new club ahead of the summer having rejected a new contract offer from current club Bayern Munich.

Reports claim his representatives have already reached out to Chelsea ahead of the summer and that is encouraging for the Blues.

Jerome Boateng: Alaba is not the only player on his way out of Bayern this summer with Jerome Boateng also set to leave the German giants.

Boateng has been at Bayern since 2011, racking up a similar honours list to Alaba, and he will still be an attractive player to many, still only 32.

As Thiago SIlva has proven, that’s young for a centre-back these days and like Silva, Boateng would bring with him plenty of experience and nous.

What’s more, the signing of Alaba could certainly help Chelsea’s case with Boateng.

Arkadiusz Milik: Whether Chelsea are in the market for a striker in the summer will likely depend whether Olivier Giroud sticks around and even if the Frenchman does depart, it will be interesting to see whether Lampard settles for Timo Werner and Tammy Abraham, or whether he still sees the former as a possible winger.

But if Chelsea do go in for a striker, Arkadiusz Milik is worth considering with the Napoli striker on his way out of Italy.

Tottenham have been linked with Milik, so they may be competition and that is because the Polish striker is an impressive player, scoring 38 goals from 93 Serie A appearances and 114 career club goals from 271 appearances.

The issue Chelsea may have is whether Milik wants guarantees he will be a starter and Lampard may not want to give those out with Abraham and Werner to please.
