REVEALED: This is when Chelsea will officially announce the signing of Timo Werner

Timo Werner has agreed to join Chelsea after the Blues triggered his £49 million release clause and offered him a five year contract with wages of £200,000 weekly.

According to The Express, Chelsea may announce their signing of RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner by the end of the week.

Chelsea fans are already getting excited for next season following the club’s signing of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner. The Blues have also opened negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen over the transfer of Kai Havertz, who has scored 11 goals and registered five assists this season.

Meanwhile, Michael Owen, has compared Chelsea-bound striker, Timo Werner, with Fernando Torres, a player who was sensational for Liverpool but who flopped at Stamford Bridge.

“The Bundesliga is a very strong league and you would say that he can translate that,” Owen said on Premier League Productions.

“He does it at international level as well. I’ve been watching him quite closely since the restart and he’s already started scoring goals, he’s very quick, can cut in from wide, times his runs brilliantly and he’s very direct as well, straight at the goal, a bit like Torres.

“I don’t think he plays exactly the same but I always used to feel that Torres would take that first touch and then be motoring forward. I like him a lot. “I’m sure Liverpool wanted him but maybe the financial implications and where we’re standing in the world at the moment put them off… but I’m pretty sure they wanted him.”
