Chelsea confirmed the signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig on Thursday.
While Werner will no doubt strengthen Chelsea’s squad, the Germany international suffers from an ear condition that could cause problems for him in the Premier League.
Werner has an ear condition that makes him struggle with loud sounds.
In a Champions League game against Besiktas in 2017, Werner fell ill and had to be taken off after just 30 minutes on the clock after feeling dizzy due to the high levels of noise in the Turkish team’s stadium.
Despite asking for ear plugs shortly after kick-off to try and stop the effects, Werner suffered from ‘circulatory problems and dizziness’ and was replaced after just 30 minutes.
Real Madrid reportedly pulled out of signing the striker in 2018 due to concerns about his ear. Will Werner be able to cope with the noise of Premier League crowds?
