REVEALED: What happened to Eva Carneiro after her infamous row with Jose Mourinho

Gibraltar-born British sports physician Eva Carneiro served as the first-team doctor of Chelsea between 2009 and 2015.

Her row with Jose Mourinho started on the opening game of the 2015/16 Premier League season. The Blues were hosting Swansea City back then.

Carneiro and the club’s chief physiotherapist Jon Fearn rushed onto the pitch to check Eden Hazard’s condition picked up an injury in stoppage time.

Mourinho criticised the pair after the match saying didn’t ‘understand the game’.

Chelsea sidelined Carneiro from her match-day duties the next weekend and that decision led to her exit from the Bridge in September 2015.

She latter suited the club for constructive dismissal and demanded a public apology from Mourinho. The claim was settled on confidential terms in June 2016.

It was later revealed that Chelsea offered Carneiro £1.2m to settle her claims but she rejected it. Eva now works as a Sports and Exercise Medicine Doctor at The Sports Medical Group in London’s Harley Street.
