Arsenal will be secretly begging and hoping Chelsea lose the FA Cup final because Chelsea could scupper Arsenal’s plans to keep hold of star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if the Blues win the FA Cup on Saturday.
According to Daily Express, the Gabon international will push to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer if Arsenal fail to win the FA Cup and secure European football for next season.
Aubameyang’s contract at Arsenal expires next summer and he is yet to make a decision on his Arsenal future.
Arsenal are relying on lifting the FA Cup this weekend to bring in extra revenue as well as securing a spot in next season’s Europa League. The Gunners feel the added funds, alongside guaranteed European football, could tempt Aubameyang to stay.
