REVEALED: Why Lampard wants Coutinho at Chelsea.. Do you agree?

Chelsea are keen on signing Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho on loan during the summer transfer window.

The Brazilian has spent the season on loan at Bayern Munich, scoring 9 goals in 34 games but the Germans haven’t been convinced to make his stay permanent.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is reportedly pushing the club to sign the Brazilian midfielder, who has failed to impress since leaving Liverpool for Barcelona in January 2018.

According to Daily Mail, Lampard is keen on bringing Coutinho to Stamford Bridge because he views the Brazilian as the calibre of player that will take the club to the next level and challenge the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City for the Premier League title next season.

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently confirmed the German club won’t trigger the option to make Coutinho’s stay permanent.

“The option expired, and we haven’t activated it,” Rummenigge told German magazine, Der Spiegel, on Friday.

“We’re going to plan our squad for next season, and we’ll see if he still has a role to play with us or not.”
