REVEALED: Why Some of Chelsea’s Premier league games will be moved

The Premier League is set to resume on June 17, as the Premier League has been given the clear for the season to be completed.

Although the league fixtures haven’t been released, the schedule is poised to follow the same structure as was mapped out prior to the season being suspended. That is, Manchester City’s outstanding home game with Arsenal and Sheffield United’s outstanding showdown with Aston Villa will go ahead so that every club will have nine games remaining.

However, the FA Cup quarter-finals and semi-finals will cause havoc with the Premier League fixture calendar ahead of this week’s release.

The date for Chelsea’s FA Cup quarter final clash against Leicester City has been announced. According to the Football Association, Chelsea will face Leicester City in an FA Cup quarter final clash on the weekend of June 27-28 and the semi-finals are on July 18-19.

As a result of the quarter-final ties clashing with Premier League games for that weekend, Chelsea’s London derby with West Ham will now be moved to a mid-week fixture. The crunch showdown between the reigning champions Manchester City and Premier League leaders Liverpool will also be moved to a mid-week fixture.
