Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger sends ‘fresh contract decision’ to Marina Granovskaia as talks restarted

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger contract set to end at the end of the season as the German will be a free player.

However, base on his contract situation, The Athletic report that Real Madrid still remain interested in Antonio Rudiger, but Chelsea have restarted contract talks with the player.

Rudiger rejected Chelsea’s only official offer worth £140,000-a-week in August and while it has been quiet since the club are now in negotiations over the details of a new deal with his brother and agent Sahr Senesie.

Sahr’s relationship with Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has been labelled as ‘positive’ and chats are being held more regularly.

However, there is no new offer on the table yet. Reportedly, Rudiger wants somewhere between £180,000 and £200,000-a-week with a four-year deal.

However, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has been very important in pushing these contract talks as he is a big fan of Rudiger and wants to keep him at Chelsea.

Both manager and player regard their bond as ‘special’ and Tuchel wants a resolution on the issue soon.
