Sorry Madrid as Boehly to make sure world class defender is signed up by Chelsea

According to latest reports, New Chelsea owner Ted Boehly will look to hand Reece James a new contract at Stamford Bridge when he officially takes over

Boehly’s ownership group, which includes Hansjorg Wyss, Mark Walker and investment firm Clearlake Capital, have agreed a deal worth around £4.25 billion to purchase the west London club.

The British government will need to make a final decision about the takeover of the club – but it is very much suggested that a deal will be announced in the coming weeks – maybe even days

And it has been revealed on the Goal website that the new owner wants to make sure that one of the clubs most important players will be signed up to a nice new contract

It has been claimed that Boehly is very concerned that a number of players are coming towards the end of their contracts and could leave the club just like Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen – who have both reportedly agreed contracts away from the club

Mount has six goals this season for the club and is one of the most important players in the squad – as he is one player that Thomas Tuchel knows he can rely on.

However, This is great news that Chelsea finally have a new owner that doesnt bring the drama that Abramovic did – and the news that he wants to get James signed up to a new deal will be massive

There has been some big clubs sniffing around the club over a potential deal for the England International – so if he gets that contract that he desires and is paid like he should be – there will be no issues

But it will be interesting to see just how much Thomas Tuchel is handed in the transfer window to improve this side as we all know that American owners are there to make money – not to spend millions on players and managers
