Star player set to leave Chelsea permanently after Blues close in on third summer signing
Following Chelsea’s significant actions in the transfer market at the back in the past few days, Levi Colwill is set to depart the club on a permanent basis this summer.
Kalidou Koulibaly’s arrival at the team could be announced today, while negotiations for Nathan Ake appear to be moving quickly. Presnel Kimpembe is also moving, though it seems to be happening in the far future.
Colwill is reportedly leaving, according to Fabrizio Romano:
For many Chelsea supporters, who have seen Colwill improve year after year in the development teams and then thrive in the Championship with Huddersfield last season, this is a devastating blow.
This will be another stick to beat the club with after selling Marc Guehi and Fikayo Tomori recently and watching them succeed with other teams; it is also a depressing indication that nothing will change despite new ownership.
