Ted Boehly opened fresh talks to sign £40M defender for Chelsea
According to reports, Chelsea and Man City have not yet started discussing a potential Nathan Ake transfer.
When Ake made the important decision to join Pep Guardiola at Man City a few years ago, he was expected to become one of the top defenders in the world.
The Dutchman, though, has never really been given a chance to stand out in that Man City team and has primarily served as cover for Guardiola’s team over the course of the last few seasons.
And the media has reported that Man City is extremely open to letting him go during this transfer window as they look to balance the books by letting a few players leave the team.
It is no secret that Thomas Tuchel has to bolster his defensive lineup this summer, and it has been suggested that the German manager is keen to bringing back Stamford Bridge star Ake.
The Premier League Champions are reportedly highly receptive to the notion of allowing Ake leave the club, and Ted Boehly has now reportedly approached Man City about a potential move for him.
Despite starting just 10 league games last season and making an additional eight starts in cup competitions, Ake has won two Premier League championships and a League Cup in his two years in Manchester.
