‘The orientation is not the best! Tuchel finally reveals who to blame for penalty incident between Mendy & Jorginho

The Blues suffered their second Premier League defeat of the season from West Ham after losing 3-2 to the Hammers.

However, Thiago Silva had given Chelsea the lead from a corner kick, but the Blues conceded just before half-time. A short pass from Jorginho to Edouard Mendy led to the Chelsea goalkeeper conceding a cheap penalty.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel blamed both Jorginho and Mendy for their errors.

When asked about West Ham’s penalty award, Tuchel said: “Everybody is involved, the pass [from Jorginho] is not the best decision to pass this ball back, the orientation is not the best, we can save it.

“Decision making is also not the best from Edu in this moment, and then suddenly you concede.

“You score a second one and lead at half time. We created a lot, a lot of half chances, we had a lot of chances in the box, sometimes you need a bit of luck maybe with a deflected shot or a loose ball that falls to our feet, this is what we did not have.”
