Chelsea Midfielder Jorginho made his first start for Chelsea since the restart. With N’Golo Kante and Billy Gilmour out injured, Frank Lampard really had no other choice.
To put it in polite terms, it was an extraordinarily Jorginhoesque performance. The Blues dominated possession but offered little else.
The 28-year-old’s future at the club was already in question, with Juventus a touted destination. His performance yesterday will have done little to secure his future at the club.
It is a throwback to his initial days at the club when he came in for much criticism. Although he enjoyed a good start to the season this time around, it appears that his star is on the wane.
